A commitment to creating more resilient and sustainable communities for residents at VIHA’s Hamilton and Piggy neighborhoods

D. Hamilton Jackson Terrace & Alphonso “Piggy” Gerard Housing Developments have been a part of the U.S. Virgin Islands community since the mid-50s. Unfortunately, due to prior hurricanes and their partial location in flood zones, they have suffered damage over the years. Our work is centered around improving the housing quality of life.

The phased rehabilitation will include upgrading 124 units and community spaces, such as a renovated community center, landscaped site with recreational areas (outdoor seatingm, basketball court, playgrounds), new parking and security, a re-envisioned site plan.

We will replace outdated building components, including roofs, window systems, bathrooms, kitchens, electric, plumbing, flooring, and paint. The updated façade system will enhance the aesthetics and resilience of the buildings, featuring hurricane-wind-resistant windows and doors.
