Position Details

SLM Architecture P.C.| Design Solutions Inc. is seeking a Summer Intern architect/designer to work in our Mineola, NY office.

An architectural summer intern will work in the office daily Monday – Thursday from 9:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. Fall Intern (September to November) Summer Intern (June to August)

Assisting on all aspects of architectural design. This can include hands-on architectural work, field surveying, drafting, 3D modeling, preparing for presentations, scanning drawings, and maintaining project files. Responsibilities may also include: displaying past projects, digitizing documents, preparing and distributing drawings, and working collaboratively with others to complete projects and goals as assigned.

Skills

Architectural summer interns will assist the lead architect with a range of duties including creating models, research and administration. The intern must have a strong knowledge of the major 3D modeling software including AutoCAD, Revit and Google SketchUp. The intern requires excellent communication skills to take direction from multiple architects and facilitate workflow between different construction coordinators.

JOB QUALIFICATIONS & REQUIREMENTS

1. Must be currently enrolled in coursework towards a bachelor’s degree in Architecture or have recently completed a bachelor’s degree in Architecture.
2. Strong written and oral communication skills.
3. Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications.
