Position Overview

SLM Architecture P.C.| Design Solutions Inc. is seeking a highly technical and detail-oriented Project Architect with 6–10 years of architectural experience to join our team. The ideal candidate will have experience in new construction and rehabilitation projects, preferably within multifamily affordable housing, and experience with NYCHA projects is a plus. The Project Architect will oversee projects from concept design through design completion, ensuring all deadlines are met and projects stay on track.

Key Responsibilities

• Project Management: Oversee and coordinate the design phase of architectural projects from concept to completion.
• Technical Drawing & Documentation: Ensure all drawings are highly technical, accurate, and complete using Revit and BIM software.
• Quality Control & Deadlines: Maintain high standards of technical accuracy while ensuring all internal and external deadlines are met.
• Code Compliance: Ensure designs comply with NYC Building Codes, zoning regulations, and other applicable standards.
• Collaboration & Coordination: Schedule and lead meetings with consultants, clients, and project teams to ensure alignment and project progression.
• Project Tracking: Monitor project schedules and ensure timely submission of deliverables.
• Problem-Solving: Identify and resolve design challenges in collaboration with engineers, contractors, and other stakeholders.
• Construction Coordination: Work closely with senior project managers, engineers, and contractors to transition from design to construction.

Qualifications & Requirements

• 6-10 years of architecture experience, with a strong background in new construction and rehabilitation projects.
• Multifamily affordable housing experience preferred; NYCHA project experience is a plus.
• Proficiency in Revit and BIM software is a must; experience with AutoCAD is a plus.
• Strong knowledge of NYC Building Codes and zoning regulations.
• Highly detail-oriented with a strong technical focus on drawings.
• Ability to stay on track and keep projects on schedule.
• Strong communication skills, with the ability to schedule and lead meetings with consultants, subordinates, and clients.
• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Architecture or a related field.
• Architectural licensure is a plus but not required.

Work Schedule & Benefits:

• Hybrid schedule: Tuesday – Thursday in-office; Monday & Friday remote.
• Hours: Monday – Friday, 9:00 AM – 5:30 PM.
