It aims to provide safe, durable, and affordable housing for families transitioning into long-term ownership
This project is spread across multiple sites in Queens and includes 24 single-family homes, three newly built and 21 rehabilitated, as part of the NYCHA Habitat for Humanity homeownership initiative. It aims to provide safe, durable, and affordable housing for families transitioning into long-term ownership.
The homes feature wood-textured façade panels, dark wooden front doors, and exterior lighting, with entryways marked by wrought iron fencing, concrete walkways, and raised stoops for a traditional streetscape. Interiors include light brown wood flooring, open layouts, and kitchens with modern appliances, light countertops, and ample storage, arranged in a functional donut-shaped design. A pass-through connects the kitchen to the living area, enhancing light and interaction. This project supports Habitat’s mission of fostering strength, stability, and self-reliance through homeownership and enhances the architectural character and sustainability of Queens neighborhoods.
