A new hub in Queens for quality senior living & faith-driven community engagement.
This development project in Queens proposes a blend of 120 affordable senior housing units and approximately 9,000 square feet of modern church space. The design integrates a five-story residential building with a two-story church, each maintaining its unique identity while contributing to a unified architectural vision. The residential portion is designed to foster accessibility, social interaction, and a healthy lifestyle for seniors, with amenities such as a lounge, fitness room, community space, and senior-focused programming areas. The church space includes a double-height sanctuary, classrooms, administrative offices, and versatile spaces for community and educational functions.
The project prioritizes cultural sensitivity by re purposing architectural elements like stained-glass windows, while also emphasizing sustainability through energy-efficient design. Outdoor spaces, including tiered terraces and a side yard for the church, encourage community engagement. The overall design balances modern functionality with respect for the site’s historical context, creating a welcoming environment that fosters both spiritual and social growth.
